Systematic literature review (2010-2022) 2024-09-10T15:26:28+02:00 Carmen Álvarez Álvarez mcalvarezalvarez@gmail.com Rosa García-Ruiz rosa.garcia@unican.es
Comics have been and are a widely used didactic resource in teaching-learning processes in a variety of educational contexts. This article presents a systematic international review of the scientific literature that relates the reading of comics with their educational use in order to identify the diversity of their uses. After conducting a documentary search of scientific articles on the subject in the Web of Science and Scopus based on a series of criteria, it was decided to work with a set of 46 articles published in the period 2010-2022. These were analysed according to eight variables. The results show that there is a diverse use of comics: it is shown that comics are widely accepted as a teaching strategy in classrooms, but at the same time, it is observed that their reading predominates over their creation, the digital medium has prevailed over the paper medium and the predominant reading is academic. It is possible to conclude that the use of comics produces many notable educational results. However, they could be used more critically, addressing social diversity to a greater extent in order to avoid the reproduction of stereotypes.
2024-12-19T00:00:00+01:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Magister. That is why we want to provide teachers with resources and didactic tools via our research. We propose in this article a text for the ELE classroom. Particularly, letter II of the Cartas marruecas by the Spanish writer José Cadalso. The aim is promoting the use of literary texts as cultural communicative elements. We believe it is required to continue with investigations about literary material and its application in FL teaching. The methodology we will use is research - action method. In addition, we will carry out a bibliographic review focused on role literature in ELE, Communicative Approach and authentic material in use. Finally, we present a didactic proposal based on a curricular approach that allows ELE professional teachers not only to work on linguistic competences and content, but also everything related to intercultural reflection.
2024-12-19T00:00:00+01:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Magister. To date, there have been an increasing number of studies that delve into the causes of the latter, with few studies addressing transfer as another form of dropout with serious consequences and high dropout rates. The present study aims to analyse the intention to drop out, taking into consideration the intention to transfer and the intention to drop out. Furthermore, it analyses satisfaction, a variable with great predictive value for dropout, in terms of this intention to drop out. The study includes 402 education students from a Spanish university. The results show an 11.4% intention to transfer and an 11.2% intention to drop out. Significant statistical differences were also observed between the three groups, with students intending to remain at the university demonstrating the highest levels of academic satisfaction, followed by those intending to drop out and, finally, students intending to transfer. These findings highlight the importance of transfer and the necessity for comparative studies to profile the relevant variables in both types of dropout.
2024-12-19T00:00:00+01:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Magister. This lack of practice is associated with a decrease in basic psychological needs (BPN) and decreased motivation towards physical activity. In order to increase motivation, it is proposed to use gamification; however, few studies observe how gamification affects BPN, and much less for novelty. Therefore, the present study tried to observe how gamification affects the need for novelty in the subject of physical education in elementary education. To carry out the study, 99 students from first, second and fifth grades participated, who were divided into an experimental group (EG, n = 49) and a control group (CG, n = 50), with the participation of the three previously mentioned courses in both groups. To observe the change in novelty a questionnaire was used pre- and post-intervention (BPN-CS). The results showed that the EG obtained novelty increases, while the CG did not obtain changes. In conclusion, gamification seems to be a viable tool to achieve improvements in the need for novelty in physical education students in primary education.
2024-12-19T00:00:00+01:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Magister. A mixed design, quantitative and qualitative, descriptive and interpretative, was used. 68 students from the Teacher Training Program in Early Childhood Education, from two higher education institutions in the province of Córdoba, Argentina, who were taking part in some space of professional teaching practice, participated. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection, and narratives were requested. The results show that agency is not simply a personal quality but is achieved through interaction with the environment and the specific conditions of each situation. The findings allow for proposing improvements aimed at designing spaces intended to promote the teacher as a reflective agent of their own work and instances of collaboration among peers, teacher mentors, and co-trainers.
2024-12-19T00:00:00+01:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Magister.
