La topografía funeraria del monasterio de Corias en la época medieval a partir de la arqueología y las fuentes escritas

Resumen

Resumen: En el presente artículo realizamos un estudio de los comportamientos funerarios documentados en el monasterio de Corias (Cangas del Narcea, Asturias) durante los siglos medievales. A partir del análisis de la distribución topográfica de los enterramientos en el edificio monástico, y conjugando las fuentes escritas y los resultados de la excavación arqueológica, se advierten las relaciones existentes entre la institución monástica y la sociedad laica y eclesiástica del suroccidente de Asturias.

Abstract: Study of the funeral behaviors in Corias’s monastery (Cangas del Narcea, Asturias) during the medieval centuries. From the analysis of the topographic distribution of the burials in the monastic building, and bringing together the written sources and the results of the archaeological excavation, they warn the relations between the monastic institution and the lay and ecclesiastic society of the southwest of Asturias.
