Abstract
Tactual maps, blindness and orientation. After considering the tangible graphics as a useful tool in the communication between spatial and geographic orientation, this paper analyses: 1) the informative possibilities of the different sensory sources available to blind people (low visión, sonority sources, echolocalization and acoustic shadows, haptic perception, ele) in the direct control of ther mobility; 2) the factors that should be taken into account in the design and use of tangible graphics; and 3) the cognitive capacities involved in the comprehension of the spatial relationships represented in the maps and those that are present in the real world.
