Abstract

Two clinical case studies: (1) Oddities of language and social interactions, and (2) Runaway and affective problems. Two case studies with regard several behavioral problems are described to ilustrate a simple way to modify several problems when changes are directly produced by new interactions among some of the family members, and when the circumstances prevent a direct treatment or it is not advised. The first case, a 5-year-old boy with problems in describing his environment, delusional speech, minimal social relationship with other children, and so on. The second case, a 10-year-old girl who got away from home and negative family interactions. Several behavior were modify in both cases following a functional analytic strategy applied to the parental context and taking into account the way in which the adult's verbal behavior is shaped or instructed. Strategies used to facilitate adherence to treatment are discussed.
