Abstract

Eyewitness testimony and persuasion: A social (re)visión of eyewitness credibility. In the present article, a social approach for the study of the persuasion impact of eyewitness testimony is proposed. Thus, some of the recent cognitive models of communication and persuasion, such as cognitive response models, attribution and heuristic models are analized in terms of their theoretical interest and practical applicability to the eyewitness research. Finally, some general implications of these persuasion models are taken into account in order to explain some apparent divergent results in eyewitness testimony research.
