Abstract
The relation between implicit theories and stereotype content. The aim of the present work is to check whether there is relation between stereotypes about tourists, and tourism implicit theories. 185 male and female university students were asked to answer two scales in order to know their implicit theories about tourism, and stereotypes on german and mainlander spanish tourists. The results show thee general theories about tourism: the critical theory, the economic theory, and the leisure theory. Data also confirmed that the students with different scores in the critical theory gave different descriptions about tourists.
