Abstract

Similarity between action and passion in the foundations of cognitive science. Unless its total absolutism is assumed, even system should emerge restricted. According to Santa Cruz (1992), the restrictions of the knowledge system are circunscribed to some aspects of shape, size, and movement. Formal restrictions establish that passivity and activity constitute the two basic principles of knowledge. Cognitive passivity and activity are introduced as formally identical and directly proportional: namely, analogous. The original restrictions on content assign them different sizes. In such a way, originary restrictions are abridged in the similarity as an essential relationship between cognitive action and passion. Movement just appears as the multiplier of similitude in the final formula, which separates these terms one from another in the original concept of similarity. This work details the characteristics of the restrictions in order to make then compatible with theoretic-experimental science, like cognitive science is, along the discussion line of my proposal.
