Abstract

Neuropsychological performance: age, education and sex. The effects of age, education and gender in several tests: Span of digits. The Babcock Story Recall Test: The Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test. The Complex Figure Test: y Benton's Visual Retention Test, are researched. All these tests are often used in Neuropsychology in order to study memory. To carry out this research, we have selected a representative sample of the Spanish population, derived from the last population census. The sample consists of 240 normal adults, 120 males and 120 females, aged between 15 and 65 years old and with different educational levels. Our results showed that age and educational level explain a significative part of the variance in the performance of each one of the tests. Gender is a significative variable in the time used by the subjects to carry out the Complex Figure of Rey.
