Abstract

Differences between traits: implications for social psychology research. Social scientist have not overlooked the relevance of trait in social world. Social psychologists has approach the study that concept from several research fields such as social perception, impression formation, attribution processes or social inference. Most of research from these fields takes for granted an homogenity between traits. However, in this paper it is hipothesized that it is posible to stablish differences between traits with regard several aspects. Particulary, the aim of this study is to analyse differences between traits with regard to their related behaviors. Therefore several main dimensions related to behaviors are considered in order to get a taxonomy wich can be used to stablish differences and groups among traits. Respondents judged 150 traits in 8 evaluative dimensions. Results show that traits commoly used by people are different with regard to their particular link with behavior.
