Abstract

Acquisition of dimensional adjectives and response biases. An important aspect to consider in the acquisition of lexical meaning refers to certain response biases used by the subjects in the experimental tasks designed for the study of different linguistics terms. One of these biases has been mentioned in the study of dimensional adjectives, this consisting in choosing the objects of greatest space extension when the knowledge of these adjectives are examined. Nevertheless, the obtained results by the investigation have not managed to stablish exactly the psychological reality of this so-called bias lacking, at the present time, a definitive answer. Thus, the main aim of the present work consisted of an evaluation of itself, taking into account the diverse aspects that could influence it. The obtained results suggest that its presence is weaker than it had been supposed, discussing those factors that could have explained its influence on previous studies.
