Abstract
Santos Rubiano (1871-1930): the introduction of scientific psychology in the Spanish army. Dr. Santos Rubiano was the first medical officer who applied the concepts and methods of modern psychology in the Spanish army. Veteran of the Philippines and North African wars, Rubiano received psychology training in the USA and was appointed chief of the military psychiatric clinic in Ciempozuelos, Madrid. His contributions to both military and general psychology in Spain are studied.
