Abstract
The influence of the context and the physical contact on the poisoned partner effect. The aim of the present work was to analyze the influence of the contextual factor (home cages versus experimental cages) as well as the degree of physical contact between the rats, in the observation of the poisoned-partner effect (PPE). Firstly, the data enable us to conclude that physical contact between the rats is fundamental so that the non poisoned rats learn to develop taste aversion conditioning. Secondly, it has also been observed that such rats showed taste aversion conditioning toward a novel flavor independently of the context being the home cage or a new experimental cage.
