Abstract
Openness to unusual experiences: developmental antecedents. The present study examines the relationship of three developmental antecedents (loneliness and isolation, familiar discipline and social/ familiar adjustment) with 13 variables related to a broader dimension of openness to unusual experiences within an univariate and multivariate framework. It was applied to the participants a semistructured interview and two scales of hypnotic susceptibility. The results show significative differences between some facets of openness and the two groups of each developmental antecedent. Combinations of these variables of openness to unusual experiences correctly classified subjects in isolation, familiar discipline and adaptability in childhood.
