Abstract
Psychometric properties of the Cuestionario de Confianza para Hablar en Público: A study with a sample of secondary education. This research analyzed both the reliability (alpha coefficient) and the construct validity of the Cuestionario de Confianza para Hablar en Público (Bados, 1986, 1991), in a representative sample of 799 students of the University Orientation Course (UOC) and the first grade of High Professional Education (1st HPE). The internal consistency was high. By means of a confirmatory factorial analysis with the LISREL 8 program (Jöreskog y Sörbom, 1993), we found that, comparing several alternative models, an unifactorial model adjusted quite well to data. We conclude that the Cuestionario de Confianza para Hablar en Público is a reliable and valid instrument to assess speech anxiety with Spanish students of Secondary Education, and we propose a short version of this instrument.Downloads
