Abstract

Hemispheric differences in global and local processing in selective attention task. Several researchers on hemispheric asymmetry in the visual processing reveal that the right hemisphere is superior in analyzing global features whereas the left hemisphere is superior in analyzing the local ones. However this specialization is not always so evident, since not all the studies have obtained the same results. The aim of this experiment has been to analize this hemispheric specialization with hierarchical stimuli, divided attention task and exposure duration of 50 ms. The results have been oposite to those expected: the right hemisphere was superior in local processing whereas no differences was found in the global one.
