Abstract
Theory and method in the Piagetian constru c t iv i s m. For those psychologists interested in understanding infant development, genetic psychology still provides now days conceptual and methodological instruments ap p ro p ri ated for its study. In this essay the current role of this approach is analy ze d, and other frameworks are critically discussed, especially those emerging in the fifties as a consequence of computer science development. The importance of psychological constructivism is underlined, and the consequences for the future of psychological methodology discussed.
