Abstract
Predictions in a CTVA-2D model under normal and Laplace's distributions hypotheses. The CODE theory of Visual Attention introduced by Logan in 1996 (Psychological Review, 103, 603-649) assumes that the items location is not represented by points in the space whereas it is represented by one-dimensional Laplace distributions. This model has been extended to two dimensions by the CTVA-2D model (Alvarado, Santalla & Santisteban, 1999, Acta Psychologica, 103, 239-255). The present work compares the results obtained assuming Laplace and normal distributions in the two-dimensional model.
