Abstract
Psychometric properties of American and Spanish versions of the ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperac tivity Disorder) scale: a comparative study. The aim of the present work was to compare the psychometric properties of American and Spanish versions of the ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) scale. The American version of the scale was administered to 865 Americans and the Spanish version to 338 Spaniards; all of them University students. The results made it clear that both linguistic versions possess a high reliability with r egard to internal consistency level as well as equivalence between the two parallel forms. Criterion related validity was also adequate in both versions. In both samples, i.e. American and Spanish, the factor structure was statistically equivalent. In comparison with the Spanish version, the American version of the scale showed a higher level of reliability and validity.
