Abstract
Progressive relaxation training effects on cardiovascular variables. In this paper the inter-sessions effects of a progressive relaxation programme (PRT) on BP and HR are investigated. The number of sessions and the lasting of training that produce a significant reduction on this variables are also studied. Thity hipertensive patients were assigned at random to one of two treament conditions: PRT or placebo group. All the subjets received treatment once a week during eight weeks. Before and after of each session BP and HR were recorded. Repeated measures multivariate analysis pointed out that the PRT produce a significant reduction on BP and HR in each session. The minimun number of sessions in order to achieve significant differences inter-group was five.
