Abstract

Approach goals, avoidance goals and multiple academic goals. In this paper, the approach and avoidance components into academic goals were assessed. We have also tried to determine the existence of motivational profiles with multiple goals. The present results indicate that a group of students would tend to approach ( MAT cluster in task goals and MOY cluster in ego-oriented goals), other group tend to avoidance (MET cluster in task goals and MDY cluster in ego-oriented goals), a third group adopt both approach and avoidance goals (MMT cluster in task goals and MMY cluster in ego-oriented goals), and other group of students have a low orientation toward approach and avoidance goals (MBT cluster in task goals and MBY cluster in ego-oriented goals).
