Abstract
Personality: Outline of an Integra tive Model.After a century investigating the personality, we confirm the need to tackle an approach that integrates the many different points of view and works realized. With this idea we present an outline of a new biological and evolutionary theory. This model tries to integrate some different theories and paradigms, and organize in a coherent structure the main achievements of the empirical investigation. It also reinterprets the Five Factor Model, proposing a conceptual taxonomy of the primary factors of the big dimensions. These factors, which emerge out of a theoretical prediction, allow us to define the personality sphere. The theory includes the temper, the character and the intellect. It also describes the structure and processes, trying to explain the biological bases of the normal and abnormal personality.
