Abstract
Alexithymia and couple relationships. In this article, the relationships between alexitimia and dyadic adjustment in couples are studied. 72 couples without serious physical or psychological pathology, were evaluated with the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20) and the Dyadic Adjustment Scale. The males with alexitimia showed worse dyadic adjustment and, in both spouses, alexitimia predicted a worse dyadic adjustment. This results suggest that alexitimia should be taken into account in the couple therapy.
