Abstract
Epidemiological descriptive measures for the study of the relapses. Nowadays, the main aim of epidemiology is the study of the first occurrence of a disorder. But there are a lot of disorders that have more than one occurrence. For this reason this work try to study epidemiologically these disorders. In order to accomplish this objective we carried out a proposal of a sequence of descriptive epidemiological indicators to the study of this phenomenon. These indicators are the incidence density and the accumulated density of relapses. We realised a simulation to study the adequacy of the indicators. We generated 32 different situations by the manipulation of the sample size, the observational period, the risk period and the duration of each episode. For each situation we obtained 100 input data files. The results show that the incidence density is affected by the observational period and the order of the relapse, on the other hand the accumulated incidence is affected by the order of the relapse.
