Abstract
Problem-solving technique for major depression. Deficient problem-solving has been reported to be related to depression. This paper reviews a ser ies of studies on whether treatment of depression by problem-solving therapy ameliorates the symptoms of depression. Problem-solving therapy has been found to be effective for treatment of unipolar depression. It is logical, systematic technique that is reasonably easy to learn and can be used to help a wide range of depressed patients in psychiatric or general community health care centres.
