Abstract
Attachment and emotional and sexual satisfaction in the couple. The purpose of this study was, first, to examine the predictive capacity of early interactions with caregiver on attachment security in adult life, and, second, to analyse the relations between attachment style, emotional expression, sexual satisfaction, and marital adjustment in couple relationships. The sample consisted of 206 couples, ranging in ages from 19 to 62 years (M= 36,6). Each individual completed self-report questionnaires on the different variables individually and anonymously. Results support that childhood attachment relationships predicted adult attachment, and data showed relevant associations between attachment security, diadic adjustment and emotional expressiveness in the couple. Another interesting finding was the important associations between couple relationship's variables and the level of attachment security perceived in the partner.
