Abstract
Evaluation of the efficiency of a programme directed to the promotion of personal and social actualization values in adolescents. An analysis is made of the effect that participation in the "Programme of Emotional Education for Personal Growth and Self-actualization", PIECAP, (Hernández and Aciego de Mendoza, 1990) has on adolescents with regard to variables such as "Capacity for confrontation, operation and actualization in the task", "Self-concept and Self-esteem" and "Empathy and Social Actualization". After completion of the questionnaire and having carried through the programme, an analysis is made of the differences between the measurements taken before and afterwards in the treatment groups, made up of 217 pupils divided up into three age groups (pre-adolescents, 11 and 12 years old; transition, 13 and 14 years old; and adolescents of between 15 and 18 years old). A control group of 29 pupils is also used. Results show that the PIECAP programme brings about changes in the dimensions evaluated, and that the greatest are those achievements made by the older subjects (15 to 18 years old).
