Abstract

Analysis of the scientific productivity of the Spanish psychology through the doctoral thesis. An analysis of the scientific productivity measured in doctoral thesis of Psychology in Spain from 1992 to 2001 has been achieved, according to the so-called Tesis Españolas Ordenadas. It was carried out an analysis of number of thesis directed in relation to the number of teachers in each of the academic areas of the spanish psychology, as well as, the directors and universities with a higher degree of productivity and the temporal evolution of thesis. 1.344 thesis as well as 1.269 teachers were analyzed. Important differences through the issues analyzed were found. The proportion of thesis by teacher is 1,06. There are a differential productivity through teachers, indicating that more than the fifty per cent have not directed any thesis in this period. The University of Valencia is the most productive, further this university provides forty per cent of the most productive directors. Finally, some reflections about these results, has been achieved.
