Abstract
Intergenerational transmission of physical abuse: A two generation study. This research seeks to prove to what extent the physical abuse memory during the childhood will predispose to abuse during the adulthood. This is a retrospective study in wich we analyse two generations: a student group (n= 574) and their parents (n= 324). We assesed the physical abuse memory of parents and students. We also assesed the child abuse potential in the student group. The results confirm partially the role of child abuse as a risk factor of abuse during adulthood. The students had abuse memories demostrated a more high abuse potential. However, the childhood abuse memory in the parents sample does not have a significant relationship with their condition as child abusers.
