Abstract

Construction and Validity Process of an Organizational and Educative Culture Inventor y. This study has as its main objective the design of de Inventory of the Organizational Culture in Education (ICOE, Marcone,2000) . A 436 teacher sample belonging to 20 elementary schools in Valparaíso, Chile, answered the ICOE. This instrument consists of 62 ítems and showed a fiability index of 0.9613 (Cronbach Alpha) and a factorial structure (main components Analysis, Oblimin and Kaiser rotation) of fourteen first order factors that explain 63,081 % of the total variance (subdimensions of the Educational Organization culture). The second orden factorial analysis permitted to obtain four factors that explain 46,06% of the variance (dimensions of the educational organizational culture). Through this instrument it is intended to establish how expanded certain cultural components are in elementary schools in connection with dimensions recognizing the effort as a factor of success, credibility of the directors and human relationships, leadership in management, communication and organizational equity.
