Abstract
Relationship between the response compatibility and the Simon effects. The relationship between the response compatibility and Simon effects has been studied. It is assumed that both phenomena affects, in principle, the response stage in the human information processing. The response compatibility effect has been obtained using a visual flanker task while the Simon effect has been carried out including an auditory stimulus overlapping with the response to the visual task. The main goal of this work is to study the relationship between both effects. The results show an interaction between them suggesting an underlying common mechanism of activation.
