Abstract

Against the format of the editors. The prevalent norms and uses in scientific reviews of Psychology come from the Publication Manual of the APA. They have become an universal pattern of rules of edition. Some of them are considered: those related to the sequence of the sections in the reports, the style of the references, the banning of the notes, and the presentation of the data and results. The consequences of this universally accepted pattern are examined. The most undesired consequence is the confusion of an editorial canon with the principles and the method of the science. Moreover, a research focused only on confirmations of hipothesis is promoted while the research oriented to discovery is dismissed. Hence, an antithetical couple arises: the couple of the scientific researcher and the editor, or, more generally speaking, the administrator of the science and of the research.
