Abstract
The scientific unity as well as the diversity of the discipline of Psychology. In this article, we review the current state of Psychology, with focus on the debate whether the various approaches to psychology should be integrated or whether those approaches should be maintained. We emphasise the present importance and appropriateness of this review, because it deals not only with epistemological questions, but also the different methods and techniques used in research and in practice. This review addresses also the different programs used in the training of psychologist; those programs are discussed nowadays because of the urgency to create a psychology curriculum in the European higher education area. Some examples are provided of integration of the various theories, methods, and subjects. The conclusion of this article is to put forward a new speciality for Psychology students, speciality that would be more in line with the needs of society.
