Abstract

Drug-taking in a population with chronic psychiatric problems. How many people with psychiatric problems take drugs? Is their consume superior than in the rest of the population? How does this consume affect in their psychosocial rehabilitation process? Why do they take drugs? Do rehabilitation processes facilitate or prevent drug-taking in this population? This kind of questions are treated through a descriptive research made in the Psychosocial Rehabilitation Center of Alcalá de Henares, Madrid (Spain). Results related to valuation of drug-taking prevalence in this population, as well as its consequences in its rehabilitation process are explained. A 53% of the consumers in this Center took any kind of drugs, in a 30%, drug taking was associated to a blockage of drawing back of the psychosocial rehabilitation process.
