Abstract
Environmental attitudes and ecological behaviour. This study concerns the field of environmental attitude. Its aim is lo look into pro-environmental attitudes and the constructs of ecocentrism and anthropocentrism, and lo study the relationship they establish with the "ecological behaviour". In order to achieve this objective, a questionnaire completed by 500 adult subjects. The results show that pro-environmental attitudes are related to ecocentrism in a positive way and to anthropocentrism in a negative way. Moreover, those subjects who stated that they regularly recycled materials appeared lo be more pro-environmental and ecocentric, whilst anthropocentrism related negatively lo recycling behaviour. In addition, the results are compared with those of a sample of 73 subjects belonging lo grupos or organisations concerned with environmental protection and conservation.Downloads
