Abstract
Detailed study by structural areas of taxonomical and biostratigraphical data provided by near 12,000 samples with macrofossils plants from the Peñarroya-Belmez-Espiel coalfield, at Córdoba, SW Spain, has shown the presence (unknown before) of two areas with different ages: upper Langsettian/basal Duckmantian for deposits of the anthracites area, and latest Duckmantian (lower Bolsovian cannot be excluded) for the bituminous coals area.
