Abstract
The palaeoecological conditions of the Devonian basin in the Colle (Sabero, León) area during the Emsian are outlined. The Upper Emsian terebratulid brachiopod fauna of Colle is revised. Devonix n.g., its type-species, D. virgo n.sp., and Cryptonella truyolsi n.sp., are proposed as new taxa. The systematic status of Cimicinellidae and Cimicinella Schmidt are analyzed and Cimicinoides Anderson, Boucot and Johnson is rejected from the family because of its axial brachial loop and cardinalia are very different than those of Cimicinella. C. schulzi (Verneuil) and C. loxogonia (Béclard) are revised and illustrated and lectotypes are proposed for both of them.
