Abstract

This study analyses the factors, endogenous and exogenous, that are in the origin of the discrimination against women at workplace, specifically pay discrimination between women and men and gender pay gap. Within this broad framework, the focus is on the impact of the professional classification system on the gender pay gap, analysing the elements that generate unequal treatment for women with an impact on the pay system. In addition, current regulatory tools and some good practices to implement in companies will be analysed.
