Abstract

This work offers an edition of José Álvarez de Toledo’s (1756-1796), 11th Marquis of Villafranca and jure uxoris Duke of Alba, 1796 book catalogue, currently preserved at the Archivo General de la Fundación Casa Medina Sidonia (leg. 66). Together with the catalogue transcription, we provide a detailed analysis of its bibliographical content, looking at the number, format and main themes of the 1,650 works here gathered, as well as a description of how the library was formed and established.
