Abstract

How to delight 100 students in the first class of research methods and to introduce, at the same time, 22 basic ideas of the subject. The present paper follows the editorial line of the journal Teaching of Psychology where are published methods for a better teaching of psychological contents. We assume that the first class is important because of the anxiety of the teacher and students, because of the incedence of this class in the generation of the attitude towards the teacher and the subject; we also assume that Research Methods is not usually percived as attractive. In this work are presented several keys to develop a first class in wich students are relaxed, ask, laugh and notice the importance of solving problems using a method. In this class are identified twenty-two important concepts of the subject. The teacher has, at less in this class, a sure sucess. The task used is a magic performance, where the students got to gess the trick, in a scientific way.
