"The brighest room in the house". Reflection and evolution of the childrens´ room through the Spanish press, 1894-1928

Abstract

After  the  first  studies  related  to  childhood,  comes  around  it  a concern about  their  lifestyles.  Hygiene,  education,  clothing  and  everything  around  him, becomes an  object  of  reflection  and  work  to  achieve optimal  conditions.  It happens the  same  respect  to  their  home  life.  Child’s  bedroom  in creases  and evolves to become anew space  dedicated  to her figure and physical, mental and moral  growth.  The  furniture  and  decoration  of  these  places  are reflected  in  the Spanish  periodical  press  from  the  nineteenth  and  twentieth  centuries. It  was  a democratic reporter of these issues.
