Abstract
During the first decade of the 20th century Julio Galán Carvajal is in A Coruña designing residential buildings in the new expanding area of the city for a bourgeoisie which aims to be linked to the modern european artistic movements. When arranging interior spaces, he will have to combine the local building tradition with the new principles of hygiene, domesticity, privacy and comfort demanded by society. The visión considering the building as a work of art will drive the architect into the embodying, both in the outside and the inside, an homogeneous decorative program with the most various materials.
