Abstract
Oporto silversmith Captain Bento José Correia died in 1820 and it was necessary to organize an inventory of his goods. This document, contextualized with the biographical aspects of the silversmith and his family, allows us to frame the experience of a craftsman of the late eighteenth century and the first quarter of the nineteenth century. The listing of his store, containing objects of civil and religious silverware, reveals the typologies in use and other curious aspects of the craft.
