Abstract
Richard Neutra left us some of the most relevant examples of modern residential architecture. His translucent and illuminated spaces were conceived to reconnect our body and soul with their biological origin, as well as to the nature we belong to. In this respect, built-in furniture has an important function in the living rooms designed by Neutra, used to separate spaces, focalize views, and create a relaxing atmosphere where the family gathers around the fire. These furniture sets consist on the chimney, couch, shelves, and other elements made of plywood, stone, brick, or steel. This paper studies the evolution of these built-in furniture sets in Neutra´'s houses, through the analysis of several examples, which have been recreated with 3d technology in order to understand the role of each element.
