Abstract

Recently, the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya (Barcelona) has received an outstanding furniture set by Antoni Gaudí from the main floor of casa Milà (popularly known as La Pedrera) on deposit as a loan by the Junta Constructora del Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família foundation. This set has enriched the Gaudí and Modernisme collections with a new typology of architectural interior design. The MNAC team is currently facing the challenge of presenting it in the most appropriate way. One of the first findings is that the set may not be complete. So, we are considering its possible functions and its constructive techniques as well as trying to answer a series of questions regarding the specific place it occupied, the participating authors and considering which other Gaudí furniture might have actually been at Casa Milà.
