About the Journal

Focus and scope

La Revista Electrónica de Metodología Aplicada (R.E.M.A.) is an exclusively digital multidisciplinary journal. In our work, we place special emphasis on the methodology applied in research in the fields of Psychology, Health Sciences, and Education.

Our journal covers both the validation of psychometric instruments and empirical papers, meta-analysis, and systematic reviews about relevant topics in the scientific literature. Likewise, we are interested in the publication of software (R packages, specific syntaxis...).

R.E.M.A is a completely free journal.

The journal is indexed in several databases such as:

       - Latindex

       - Dialnet

       - Psicodoc

About us

R.E.M.A was founded in 1996 by teachers Francisco Javier Herrero, Marcelino Cuesta, and Fernando Cuetos, linked to the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Oviedo, being so the first Spanish journal of its field in digital format.

Peer-review process

The review consists of two steps.

First, two members of the Editorial Board will evaluate the relevance of the paper, as well as if its content shares the journal's aims and interests. Any paper that doesn't strictly follow APA Style 7th edition standards will be rejected. Within 15 days, all authors will be notified whether or not the manuscript will be sent to reviewers.

After this first phase, a double-blind review will be carried out (since both the author and the reviewers will be anonymous to each other). For this, two anonymous reviewers will be selected based on their expertise in the article's field.

Both reviewers will evaluate the coherence of the writing, the objectives of the study, as well as the methodology used to achieve these, and the correct interpretation of the results. All authors will be notified of the decision to publish the manuscript, as well as the pertinent changes and the time they have to make said modifications (a month from the date of notification) in the event that the decision is positive.

The reviewing process lasts a maximum of three months but may differ under special circumstances.

Open access policy

This journal offers fully open access to its contents as we believe that free access to scientific results will lead to a higher exchange of knowledge on a global scale.
