Abstract

Press and theatre were two of the major media of the second half of the Eighteenth century, an era in which reason is extolled and the most diverse fields of human knowledge are developed. Logically, both the "sainetes", increasingly linked to reality and actuality, as well as newspapers, echoed in their own way the news or advances in scientific matters, as we try to sketch through examples taken from zoology, astrology, physics and mechanics or even medicine.
