Resumen
Los importantes cambios de la web 2.0 y la geolocalización han modificado nuestras relaciones con el entorno. Existe un mayor uso, gestión y generación de información georreferenciada, tanto por profesionales como por cualquier ciudadano. No obstante, se sigue priorizando el tradicional uso de localización en los mapas frente a otras funcionalidades más analíticas y explicativas. El artículo reflexiona sobre el actual contexto de la Neogeografía. Pretende poner en valor la democratización del uso de la información cartográfica y su gran potencial para la disciplina geográfica. Pone de manifiesto la necesidad de una mayor alfabetización visual y espacial a través de una confluencia entre la geografía académica y las nuevas geografías.
