Resumen
El principal objetivo de este trabajo es el reconocimiento de un periodo húmedo en el antiguo Sáhara Español entre 1882 y 1890. Hemos fundamentado nuestros resultados en diferentes proxies a los que se han añadido los datos de lluvia registrados en Cabo Juby en 1884 y 1885. Ha sido muy útil la lectura de las notas de viaje de los exploradores españoles y del viajero francés Douls. Por otra parte hemos tenido en cuenta la tradición oral proporcionada por las tribus saharauis recogidas por autores franceses y españoles. Todos estos datos suministran pruebas acerca de la existencia de una fase climática con lluvias superiores a las actuales que afectó a todo el territorio. Esta fase húmeda puede ser relacionada con fenómenos de alcance más global como es el índice de la NAO (North Atlantic Oscillation) y el índice de lluvias del Sahel.
