Resumen
El artículo muestra la profunda remodelación de la comarca de Riotinto, donde durante ochenta años (1873-1954) la compañía inglesa rtcl desarrolló una actividad minero-industrial en régimen semicolonial. La perspectiva espacial, sintética y paisajística, junto con el soporte cartográfico, confieren al trabajo un característico perfil geográfico, diferente y complementario de otros estudios que, sobre el mismo territorio, se han realizado desde otros ángulos del conocimiento (geológico, económico, histórico, etc.).

Riotinto comme une colonie britannique: l’ordre territorial et le paysage minier-industriel.-L’article montre la profonde rénovation de la région de Rio Tinto, où pendant quatre-vingts ans (1873 à 1954) la compagnie anglaise RTCL développé une activité minière et industrielle sous un régime semi-colonial. La perspective spatiale, synthétique et du paysage, accompagnée du support cartographique, apportent à cette recherche un profil géographique caractéristique, différent et complémentaire à d’autres études qui, sur le même territoire, ont été réalisées à partir d’angles de connaissance distincts (géologique, économique, historique, etc.).
Abstract
Riotinto as a British colony: the territorial order and the mining-in-dustrial landscape.-The article shows the profound redevelopment of the region of Riotinto, where for eighty years (1873-1954), the english company RTCL performed mining and industrial activity within a semi-colonial framework. The spatial, synthetic and landscape perspective, together with the cartographic support, provide the work with a distinctive geographical profile which is different and complementary from other studies which have been made on the same territory, from other angles of knowledge (geological, economic, historical, etc.).
