Abstract

We discuss here the influence left on the historical, political and legal thought of our time by the life path of the children of Sempronius Gracchus and Cornelia —Tiberius and Gaius—, which represented a tragic turning point in the course of the Roman Republic until its fall, after a century of civil strife. To help understand and provide an adequate historical context, both moments of prominence of these ancient figures are reconstructed as they were presented by Greco-Latin sources.
